Though I prefer Donofrio, this Lamborgini icecream freezer, sitting outside a shop near Chosica (Lima, Peru), and the complementary color of the door, caught my attention as we drove by.
"Ode to Chicagoland"
8x10 Oil on canvas panel
Daily painting
Painted Aug. 9th.
Its funny hearing people call the Windy City "Chicagoland". But they do! And all Chicagoans love the Bean or its official name, The Cloud Gate, a giant piece of art/architecture shaped like a kidney bean, that people can walk under and see their reflections in. It provides hours of entertainment for masses of people. Here's to the beautiful city!
"Saltwater Souvenirs"
8x10 Oil on panel
Painted Aug. 6th
We went to Isle of Palms beach outside of Charleston a couple weeks ago and I got some saltwater taffy. I'm trying out different brush strokes. I really love impressionism too so I was trying to capture that style. I think I overblended the paint a bit. Thats something I need to work on, but I'm still happy with the painting.
SOLD Zona Hotelera
8x10 Oil on canvas panel
Painted August 1st
The Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone) in Cancun, Mexico is the subject of this painting. We went here for our honeymoon. The crystal clear water and the brilliantly blue Carribean sky is amazing!
