Ayacucho for Sherry

Ayacucho

12X16
Oil Painting on Stretched Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Featuring the plaza de armas in Ayacucho (Corner of the Dead), Peru.

Here's your painting Sherry! Sorry its been so long. I was so happy to do it for you. It doesn't seem to do the beautiful town justice though. Can't say it wasn't a challenge. Maybe I can paint you another once my skill improves. ;)I've said this before, there is something about downtowns that I like. Ayacucho is no exception. It's such a quaint little town with alot of bloody and beautiful history. Not to mention it sits up in the gorgeous Andes mountains. I'm so blessed to have been able to visit Ayacucho twice now! Can't wait to go again.

  1. I absolutely love this painting! It captures the colonial feel of the plaza. When I saw it, my heart had the same feeling I have when I actually step foot there- a welcoming sensation. I don't think artists are ever satisfied with their work... it's one of the things that causes them to keep challenging themselves and growing in their techniques. But, I LOVE it... Thank you, Laura, for this precious painting. I can't wait to hang it in a place of honor in my home.
